When shopping for an amp, keep in mind how many channels you need, any special features required for your system, and future upgradeability; whether you'll be adding a sub or more speakers down the road. 2-channel amps can run a single pair of speakers, or can be "bridged" to drive a single speaker such as a subwoofer or center channel speaker.
